Meetings :   2006 - Slovakia

On May 5th 2006, ETRA participated in Slovakia to the inauguration of the plant opened by the company V.O.D.S..

The ceremonies began at 10:00AM at the new facility. The plant is located in a new industrial park 20 km from Kosice. The facility is 20,000 square metres and currently equipped by Eldan, with a super shredder and granulaters. There is sufficient space to include at least 2 additional lines. Apparently, they are in discussions with MeWa for additional equipment.

A separate building houses Hungarian mat making equipment (Charmol). The owner, Arpad Molnar was present at the opening. Ir. Holcik was my escort for introductions, etc. The Hungarian representative of Michelin was also present as a guest, and spoke to me briefly about the wonderful plans that Michelin has for Hungary.

A total of about 300 persons participated, including 12 Ministers and assorted local dignitaries and representatives of the media from all four countries. The opening speeches were made by the Ministers of the Environment of Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. They have formed an official group that works together for common interests on environmental issues. Speeches were also made by the current Minister of Trade for Slovakia and the Mayor of Kosice.

There has been the opportunity for the secretary General to speak with the Ministers and to discuss ETRA’s role, etc. After more speeches, there were a number of interviews to ETRA.
